Hello and welcome to another devlog. This time the subject is the Underworld. Because what's the point in building a harem if you can't hentai ghosts and the people you've killed?

I had plans to make a new dungeon/explorable area with combat for a while. The choice was between the Meadow, China and Underworld. Meadow being a low-mid level zone, China mid to high level and Underworld the end game content.

May be silly to have gone with the end game one first, but I felt it fitted well in update 0.43. It's somewhat dark and slightly necromancy themed. Also, I wanted more of Bernadette. The problem with Bernie is she can't shine in a high school setting. Can't be too much of a bitch to her classmates and can't use her talent either. Both problems are gone in the world of the dead. Even better, she shows up even if killed by Willow.

As for other characters, it'll be a nice touch to be able to talk with some people who died on our journey. Be it a lorry driver or the headmaster.

Let's move on to the technical stuff. The Underworld is a new location that is explorable by map. How this works is:

• you select a place on the map (anywhere that isn't water or mountains)
• a red X shows up on the map
• press space/click the red X/press the icon in top right corner to start travel
• press space again or use the watch icon in top right corner to pause/unpause travel
• click on the hero's icon to enter the location

This isn't like the old previous maps where you simply select the location and teleport there. Travel takes time (skipping speeds it up a whole lot) and you can get attacked by enemies along the way. Encountering an enemy once reduces chances of another encounter for a few movement ticks to prevent an endless fight. I'm also planning on adding stuff like teleport runes or something that lowers chances of encountering enemies (simple invisibility will work here).

Ghosts are a new type of enemy (different from the spirit girl). They can possess corpses, gaining full health and becoming more offensive. Each location you enter gets a random number of bodies they can use. Should they leave the body when their HP gets low, they will go back to the ghost form with their old HP before possession.

Another nice feature is being able to enter any location you're in right now. This allows for exploration and will give different scenes, enemies, plants for harvesting and so on. Also some hidden events and what not.

Making money  by farming ghosts is also an option, if you're tired of repeating the burger minigame. Ectoplasm sells for good money, can be used for potion making and drops abundantly.

Lastly, somewhat unrelated and moving on from the Underworld, I've added the option to dispel certain spells like shields by clicking on the buff. This is mostly done to allow your friendly ghost to quickly dump a corpse and go back into combat, but it makes sense with some other conditions too.

The beta will be releasing soon with the public version most likely following a month later. The update will focus on main story, harem route and some burning investigation. I also updated Renpy to 8.3.X, which brings some improvements in performance. Should also fix some errors for folks playing in the browser (PornGamesHub).
